Design for Celebrities

Pedini has been making kitchens since 1956 and it wouldin’t be wrong to say that they were one of the pioneers in creating the modular kitchens that we see today. Ultramodern, minimalistic, artistic,… how do we describe Pedini kitchens? The design and craftsmanship is exquisite but they come at a price. The average Pedini costs around 14 lakh rupees (approx $30,000) but if you are planning to get the one Charlotte chose, you will need a whooping 1.4 crore (approx $300,000)!

Now there are many out there (who are we kidding!), who will never spend that much on a house, let alone a kitchen! But any celebrities reading our blog, here are some from Pedini’s collection that you could consider (emm..this will serve as a reference for the rest of us!)…

More Modern Italian Kitchens

Veneta Cucine is another one of the Italian design houses that regularly come up with stunningly beautiful kitchens. Each of their designs make use of a wide range of colours, surfaces and finishes and they look so different from one another. In fact, we can only find one thing that is common: They are all beautiful.

Japanese Kitchens

How do you tell if a particular kitchen is Japanese or not? Hmm… when you have robots to watch over what you cook and have trendy cartoons adorning the wall, you KNOW it’s Japanese.

The above images are of the 2 freshly released ones from the Core line of kitchens from Japanese kitchen maker Toyo Kitchens.

The core concept is based on ‘Living in the kitchen’ and it brings togethor the concept of cooking eating and relaxing togethor in the kitchen. The design image was inspired by Laputa, the flying island in Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift and the movie Castle in the Sky by Hayao Miyazaki.

And it’s not just robots and cartoons actually. Tokyo Kitchens have other outstanding kitchens in their lineup. Check out images below.

All the kitchens shown above fall in the modern category. Not all Japanese kitchens follow the same style. Infact, in Japan, where land is very expensive and plots too small flexible and multipurpose rooms are only too common. Take a look at the one below which incorporates a bedroom and study too!
Traditional Japanese kitchens are designed to occupy minimal space.

Inspirational Kitchen Designs From Alno

Alno‘s kitchens characteristically reflect the ‘german efficiency’ while being stylish in their design. One of their interesting features is the way they sometimes use textures on the kitchen wall.
The island kitchen is ideal for large, as well as open-plan rooms. Here the island unit constitutes a separate work surface, but still makes the kitchen feel wide and spacious.

The L-shaped kitchen can be used in a variety of ways. In large rooms there is even space for a dining table. Carousel fittings for corner units give access to storage space right into the furthest corner.
 Here is Alno’s design philosophy:

Modern kitchen design is all about using creative, individual and unusual design alternatives in order to create the most efficient use of space. There are various different kitchen shapes which, depending on the size and layout of the room, embrace the principles of the so-called work triangle as a practical arrangement of sink, fridge and oven and represent extremely sensible and practical solutions.
The single-line kitchen is suitable for rooms with only one partition wall. Set-forward work areas and deeper base units can easily create more work and storage space.
The two-line kitchen makes the best use of the available space. A distance of at least 1.2 metres between the two kitchen lines allows unrestricted access to the base units.
The U-shaped kitchen is reliable and practical. It is ideal for both large and small rooms and provides maximum work surface and storage.
